Sirius Kade thought it would be a simple rendezvous on an alien colony world nine hundred light years from Earth. He was certain no one knew he was coming, or why.
He couldn’t have been more wrong.
When his Earth Intelligence Service contact is murdered by a mercenary hit squad, Sirius is launched on a desperate mission to the edge of Mapped Space. He soon finds himself battling for the survival of the Human Race while great alien powers vying for supremacy threaten the foundations of galactic civilization itself.
Kade is an audacious and endearing leading man, and the various planetary backdrops and inhabitants are meticulously detailed and vividly described.
This volume delivers an impressively knotty plotline and impeccably edited writing. Fans of classic space tales (like E. E. Smith’s
Lensman saga and
Jack Williamson’s Legion of Space) should find this series utterly satisfying.

I greatly enjoyed this book. The first in the series was good, and I was eagerly awaiting its sequel. This book was even better.
I sincerely hope that Mr. Rennerberg continues to expand this series, the setting is rich and ripe for expansions, and the characters
and plots drew me in. I couldn't put it down.

Loving the Mapped Space Series! This is a great continuance of Sirius's adventures. The story takes us to many places
with many plot twists I didn't see coming. I can't wait for the next volume!

I really enjoy this series, and this latest book expands the potential plot lines to allow the author plenty
of room to explore the underlying themes of the series. The next book can't come out fast enough for me.

Have read both books in Mapped Space and Mothersea and Mothership. The writing is unique and the story telling is a bit deeper than
some of the space scifi that's all action and less development. Enjoyed this book, finished it in a few days. Mapped space definitely a
series I have enjoyed reading.

A great follow up to Antaran Codex ... engaging and believable.
- Tim Miller, Amazon.com (Jun 28, 2017)
A wonderful read ... The universe he describes is compelling and it's a lot of fun to think of Earth as the little guy out there.
The science he describes has real teeth and seems incredibly possible yet also fantastical
